Insight is the Regulation 44 workspace the independent visitor owns, not the provider. It keeps each home’s record, so you arrive knowing who you have not spoken with and what you have not sampled.

Never sold to a provider. It asks for a child’s initials, never their name.

The independent person must produce a report about a visit which sets out, in particular, the independent person’s opinion as to whether children are effectively safeguarded, and whether the conduct of the home promotes children’s well-being.

Two opinions, every month, on your authority alone — and under Regulation 44(7) it is you, not the home, who sends the report. Copies go to Ofsted, the placing authorities, the provider, the manager and the responsible individual, so your reports are in front of Ofsted before it inspects. Everything in Insight exists to make those two opinions well-founded.

Independence

The provider has no way in.

  • You are a guest in a system the provider controls.
  • The provider holds the schedule and the record.
  • Your draft sits on the provider’s platform.
  • Your record stays with the provider when your contract ends.

Insight

  • Sold to you. There is no provider tier, by design.
  • You own the record: every visit, finding and report.
  • No provider account exists — no provider can read a draft, approve it or hold it up.
  • Every submitted report downloads as a PDF you keep.

Manage a home whose visitor uses Insight? There is no account for you to open. Your visitor sends you the report as a PDF, on their own authority.

How it works

Four steps, every month,for every home.

    Prepare

    Who to speak with and what to sample, derived from your own record and ready the night before.

  2. 02

    Visit

    At least an hour. Children in private, records and premises. Fields for children and staff take initials, never a name.

  3. 03

    Report

    Two opinions with their reasons. Findings in one shape: what you looked at, what you found, why it matters.

  4. 04

    Send

    Lock the report and download the PDF. You send it yourself, on your authority alone, and once submitted it cannot be changed.

After you send

A year in, the record is the argument.

Every submitted report stays on the home’s record, locked, beside the visits before it and who was living there at the time. Each month adds to it, and none of it can be quietly rewritten.

What it costs

Priced per visitor, never per home.

One account per visitor, however many homes you carry. In a consultancy, each visitor has their own account and their own record, and no other account can read it. A provider cannot buy Insight at all: the record of what you found should never belong to the provider whose home you report on.

What it comes to depends on how many of you there are, so we work it out with you on a short call rather than guessing at a number here.
